About Emote Check

What it checks

What makes an emote read in chat

Chat shows an emote at about the height of a line of text. One face or one shape, thick outlines and a see-through background read at that size; small text and fine detail do not. Check the smallest size first.

Questions

What size should a Twitch emote be?
Upload one square PNG between 112 × 112 and 4096 × 4096, under 1 MB, and Twitch makes the sizes. Uploading them yourself: 112, 56 and 28 pixels, each under 100 KB. Emote Check makes all three.
What size is a Twitch sub badge?
Three PNGs: 72, 36 and 18 pixels, each 25 KB at most, with a see-through background. Twitch does not resize a badge for you; Emote Check makes the three.
Why does my emote look blurry or busy in chat?
Chat shows it at about the height of a line of text. Thick outlines, one face or shape and no small words read at that size; check the smallest preview here first.
Is my picture uploaded anywhere?
No. It is checked and resized in your browser.
